Cognisant of this need, SIRIM Berhad has established SIRIM Training Services to meet the growing demand for quality and technology oriented human resource development for industries.

Background

SIRIM Training Services Sdn Bhd was incorporated on 27 September 1997 under the Companies Act 1965, as a wholly- owned subsidiary of SIRIM Berhad. The company was originally established under the Technology Transfer Division of SIRIM Berhad in 1991 and was formerly known as Technology Dissemination Unit, to upgrade the technological skills and capabilities of local industries. This is realised through organised courses, seminars, conferences and in-house training programmes. In 2006 onwards, SIRIM Training had been restructured and entrusted to play a leading role as the Marketing and Sales arm of SIRIM Berhad for training programmes. In 2009, SIRIM Training's role was further enhanced to promote and manage trainings on quality, technology, management, certificate learning programmes, seminars, workshops and conferences.

Expertise

Most of SIRIM Training trainers come from SIRIM Berhad which has more than 500 in-house experts who possess a wide-spectrum of technological expertise and experience. Many of the experts have been trained in Europe, USA, Japan, Korea and other advanced foreign countries. They have vast experience in servicing the Malaysian industries since late 1960s. Their expertises encompasse areas from advanced manufacturing, advanced materials, automation & robotics, automotive product design, engineering & testing, electrical & electronic testing, mechanical and building material testing, industrial testing, industrial biotechnology & chemical process, environmental technology, nanotechnology, renewable energy, welding technology inspection, foundry technology, tooling technology, intellectual property, metrology, standards development, quality systems, incubators and entrepreneur development programmes.
